Charlotte’s entire work experience has been in the not-for-profit sector. It was when a CPA at a museum, where Charlotte was serving as staff, encouraged her to pursue accounting courses that she found her calling. Charlotte graduated from Portland State University with her bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2006 and immediately began practicing public accounting at a firm in Portland, Oregon, that served not for profit clients exclusively. She joined Stanfield + O’Dell in March of 2016 and has a leadership role in the audit department. Charlotte enjoys working at Stanfield + O’Dell and believes in delivering services that are uniquely matched to the needs of each client. She explains, “Calculating the meaning and value of numbers is one thing, but communicating information clearly to clients is another”, is the mindset she tries to strive by each and every day.
With nearly 15 years of audit experience in public accounting, Charlotte’s extensive accounting, auditing, and consulting experience in the nonprofit sector, working with churches, ministries, education, social services, and arts and culture, will play a major role as she embarks on the journey as the firm’s newest Shareholder. Charlotte’s genuine interest in people from varied backgrounds and her expertise in accounting intertwine to support the nonprofit organizations she serves. She translates financial information into terms that are relevant and practical for each client’s situation.
Her hobby includes competition barbeque with her husband of 20+ years and she has a heartfelt enthusiasm for animal rescue causes. Charlotte and her husband are the parents to an adult son and three rescue animals. She is a graduate of Leadership Tulsa Class 57 and currently serves on the board of directors for Leadership Tulsa. Charlotte is also on the board of Tulsa SPCA, where she was named outstanding board member in 2018, and is on the finance committee of the Little Light House.
