COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Stanfield + O’Dell emphasizes relationships in all aspects of their business. They want employees to engage in activities that will result in developing long-term relationships with clients, business associates, and the community.

Therefore, Stanfield + O’Dell encourages them to become involved in either a community, charitable, civic, or professional organization. When an employee chooses an organization to serve, they are encouraged to not only attend the regular meetings, but to actively seek a leadership role within the organization. Currently, Stanfield + O’Dell employees serve on sixteen local nonprofit boards. For a small business, having over one-third of the employees serving in a board position is a significant contribution to the Tulsa community.

In addition to board service, employees also give back to our community through participation in civic clubs such as the Rotary, Kiwanis, and Lions Club. Stanfield + O’Dell has volunteered for many years to serve as the auditors of the Miss Oklahoma Pageant. In February of 2018 and 2019, Stanfield + O’Dell participated in the annual Leadership Tulsa Good News Summit, sharing what Stanfield + O’Dell does in the Tulsa community to make a positive impact and help celebrate making Tulsa a better place. Executive and committee involvement in various professional organizations promotes the integrity and visibility of the accounting profession and Stanfield + O’Dell.

While community participation and individual board service are at the heart of Stanfield + O’Dell, there are also three annual events which bring the entire firm together. The first is every fall, Stanfield + O’Dell actively fundraises for the Tulsa Area United Way. During the weeks of fundraising, time is set aside for educating, engaging, and encouraging employees to support the United Way. The second is each year Stanfield + O’Dell supports the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma as a firm. This opportunity allow for a team building activity amongst the staff, but also emphasizes Stanfield + O’Dell’s commitment to give back and make a difference. Lastly, Stanfield + O’Dell holds an annual toy drive during the holiday season for Toys for Tots.

The employees are uniquely qualified to serve the Tulsa nonprofit community due to both their professional expertise and their service as board members. Stanfield + O’Dell is passionate about making a difference within the Tulsa community.
